When We Dance – a film from Dance for Parkinson’s

Nicola Kenny

For 2024’s Parkinson’s Awareness Month, we’re celebrating with something incredibly special from our Dance for Parkinson’s community here in Edinburgh.

Last Autumn, we came together with filmmaker Lucas Chih-Peng Kao to make our first Dance for Parkinson’s dance film. We’re delighted to premiere ‘When We Dance’, a collaboration between people living with Parkinson’s, their families, friends, carers, our volunteers, and a team of professional artists.

You can watch the full short film now, and find out more about Dance for Parkinson’s via the link below.

Visit Lucas’ website here.

This film was made with the generous support of The ScottishPower Foundation.

Dance for Parkinson's Classes

Dance for Parkinson’s classes have been taking place at Dance Base since 2010. Since then, we have grown a wonderful community both in Edinburgh and across Scotland. Our classes bring together people living with this neurological condition through dance, movement, music, and creativity.
