The umbrella term for group of traditional dance styles originating in Ireland, known for rapid leg and foot movements and focused on rhythm and precision.

In this Beginner/Improver class, you can expect to learn the fundamentals of Irish Dance by building your confidence in an encouraging and fun environment.

Enjoy a weekly workout as you take some time for you, meet like-minded people, and have fun learning something new or brushing up on an old skill.

Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in, and Irish or Jazz shoes. Don't forget to bring your water bottle!

Meet the Teachers

Jennifer Roxburgh

Jennifer has been teaching Performance Irish Dance since 1999 and is the director of Scotland's premier award-winning Performance Irish Dance troupe, Siamsoir and the online community at Irish Dance Village.

As an experienced performer, choreographer, competitor and teacher she enjoys sharing her love of dance to inspire and build confidence in others.

As a qualified fitness instructor you will be worked hard in a safe, professional and relaxed teaching environment.

How to prepare

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

If this is your first Irish Dance class, we recommend wearing comfortable footwear or a soft dance shoe if you already have a pair, before purchasing a pair of soft Irish dance shoes.

Also, don’t forget your bottle of water!
