Originating in the Gitano (or Romani) communities of Spain's Andalusia region, Flamenco combines percussive footwork and expressive arm movements, all set to traditional music.

This is an energetic, no-frills Beginners class is designed to help you build a strong foundation in essential Flamenco skills and develop understanding of the intricate compas (rhythms) and expression at the heart of this undiluted genre of dance.

With vibrant music to inspire us, we’ll warm up with some simple technique followed by a short but elegant choreography that will be energetic in parts. Let your hair down and expect to leave the class feeling taller, sparkling and uplifted. Discover your inner duende!

Please wear comfortable clothing, and don't forget your water bottle!

If this is your first time taking a Flamenco class, we would recommend that you wear a shoe with a block heel for the first few classes before purchasing a Flamenco dance shoe. Do not hesitate to ask Adela any questions about footwear or the requirement of a flamenco skirt.

This class will be participating in our annual Christmas show!
