Join us for some dancing through the Edinburgh Festivals from Monday 3 - Sunday 30 August

5 August with Ursula Manandhar (Hip-hop grooves and foundations)

Ursula will focus on the foundations of hip-hop, exploring key grooves such as bounce, rock, and other fundamental movements. and learning how to apply these grooves within a choreographed routine, developing musicality, timing, flow, and a deeper understanding of how movement connects to the music.

12 August with Gabriele Bruzzese (Toprocks styles & rocking - freestyle)

This session with Puerto Rican-born Toprock explores how to use rhythm, posture, and creativity to build your own style while staying true to breaking's roots. It's not one to miss!

19 August with Marco Barot (Hip Hop Freestyle)

Soulo will be teaching Hip Hop freestyle and floorwork, focusing on grooves, movement concepts, and creative expression. We’ll build confidence in freestyle while discovering different ways to move through and connect with the floor.”

26 August with Nevil Jose (Old school hip hop/ Party grooves)

Party Grooves: Step back into the 80s and 90s with classic Soul Train-inspired choreography. Expect funky beats, feel-good vibes, and easy-to-follow dance routines guaranteed to get you moving.


Emerging in 1970s New York, Hip Hop is defined by foundational moves such as bounces, rocking, isolations, steps, kicks and gestures, combined to form different Hip Hop grooves (e.g. Biz Markie, Cabbage Patch, The Prep and Harlem Shake).

Please note 10 class passes are not available for use on our festival class programme.
