£185 (Conc. £165) - 13 Week Course
Teacher: Jonathan Burnett
Born in the Italian Renaissance, Ballet took many turns across Europe (with some great leaps in France and Russia) before landing on the world's largest stages in its modern, athletic form. Ballet is characterised by its technical precision, elegance and captivating artistry. At Dance Base, our Ballet classes range from classical to modern, beginners to professional—but they are always inclusive. There is a space at the barre for everyone at Dance Base.
Through barre work and centre practice, this Improvers/Intermediate course will help you strengthen your core, develop presentation skills and delve deeper into technique and more expressive approaches to movement. This class will continue to build your movement vocabulary using the principles and techniques introduced in Ballet Improvers or similar.
Please wear ballet slippers or socks, and comfortable, fitted clothing so that your teacher can observe your alignment. Don't forget a bottle of water!
This class will be participating in our annual Christmas show!

With particular interests in Mime-in-Education, Baroque Dance and the work of Isadora Duncan, he has teaching qualifications in Classical Ballet, Margaret Morris Movement and in Benesh Movement Notation.
