Aerial combines circus skills and modern dance, with dancers using silks, hoops and trapeze to climb, swing and suspend in the air.

Using aerial kit such as silks, hoop and trapeze, this Aerial Youth Course for P3-P7 will help young people learn and explore aerial dance techniques working towards developing sequences, tricks and choreography linking the air to the floor.
Each session will start with a warm up as well as moves on and off the equipment to help you learn new skills, and have fun! Suitable for all abilities—a great introduction to the air or an alternative way to use your dance skills. Hang, climb, swing and fly your way through aerial skills!

All or Nothing are a leading aerial dance company creating, performing, teaching and pioneering aerial arts in Scotland since 2006. Based in Edinburgh, they blend breathtaking aerial acrobatics with dance, theatre and contemporary circus.

Please wear loose comfortable clothes and please bring your own yoga mat with you if you have one. If not – don't worry! We have some you can borrow.

Meet the Teachers

All or Nothing

All or Nothing are Scotland’s leading aerial dance company creating, performing, teaching and pioneering aerial arts in Scotland. Led by Artistic Director Jen Paterson, our work ranges from small-scale theatre to large-scale outdoor spectacle - hanging from boats, buildings and cranes, flying through forests, across lochs or dancing on iconic landmarks. All or Nothing combine aerial arts with dance theatre and contemporary circus, creating our own theatrical works for touring as well as developing aerial elements for events.

Participation is vital to the company’s work. We believe that aerial is for everyone and we develop all kinds of opportunities for this to happen, challenging assumptions of who aerial is for.
