Edinburgh Centre for Research on the Experience of Dementia
ECRED is an interdisciplinary group of dementia researchers, people with dementia, dementia practitioners and representatives from a range of dementia organisations.
We are working with ECRED, exploring rights-based ways of working in dance and dementia.
The Grassmarket Community Project
The Grassmarket Community Project (GCP), based at the Grassmarket Centre, is a community of over 500 people, working together to support positive changes in one another’s lives.
They are partners in our Community Dance Group.
The largest European charitable funder of Parkinson’s research, Parkinson’s UK work to support everyone affected by Parkinson’s.
They support our work in Dance for Parkinson’s.
PiPA Charter Partner Sentence
We are a PiPA (Parents and Carers in Performing Arts) Charter Partner, striving
towards creating a more family friendly working environment.
PiPA campaigns to enable and empower parents, carers and employers to achieve
sustainable change in attitudes and practices in order to attract, support and retain a
more diverse and flexible workforce. We are always happy to discuss solutions that
allow people to balance their caring responsibilities with their working lives, for
example through job shares or flexible working arrangements as appropriate.
The Royal Ballet School
The Royal Ballet School has partnered with us to create their First Regional Training Hub. Together, we will work to deliver a wealth of dance opportunities for young people, aspiring dancers and dance professionals.
With this new partnership, we will collaborate to deliver the highest-quality Royal Ballet School programmes in Scotland, including for children trying dance for the first time, dance students who want to train at a recreational or pre-vocational level and those who wish to teach dance in various settings. These programmes will all take place within Dance Base’s award-winning studios in central Edinburgh.
Scotland’s national dance company, Scottish Ballet aims to encourage Scottish dance and to make dance accessible nationwide.
They are our partners on the National Dance for Parkinson’s Scotland project (2016- 2022).
An Edinburgh-based South Asian dance charity, who promote creativity and wellbeing through the practices of South Asian art forms.
They are collaborating with us on a Dance for Parkinson’s project.
An Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership working to improve mental health and wellbeing in Edinburgh.
They support our work in Health, Wellbeing, and Engagement.
