Edinburgh Centre for Research on the Experience of Dementia

ECRED is an interdisciplinary group of dementia researchers, people with dementia, dementia practitioners and representatives from a range of dementia organisations.  

We are working with ECRED, exploring rights-based ways of working in dance and dementia. 

European Dance Development Network

EDN is a constellation of contemporary dance organisations, engaged in accompanying and facilitating dance sector transformations (aesthetics, production models, audiences) in response to the changes and challenges of the wider socio-political context while strengthening the role of contemporary dance in shaping more diverse, equitable and sustainable models.

The Grassmarket Community Project

The Grassmarket Community Project (GCP), based at the Grassmarket Centre, is a community of over 500 people, working together to support positive changes in one another’s lives.  

One Dance UK

One Dance UK promote a stronger, more vibrant and diverse dance sector in the UK. They work towards excellence, equity and growth across all areas of dance, including access, education, dance science, dancer health and wellbeing, performance, production, and management, and ensure Government and policymakers hear their member’s voices.

We are a PiPA (Parents and Carers in Performing Arts) Charter Partner, striving towards creating a more family friendly working environment.

The Royal Ballet School

The Royal Ballet School has partnered with us to create their First Regional Training Hub. Together, we will work to deliver a wealth of dance opportunities for young people, aspiring dancers and dance professionals.

With this new partnership, we will collaborate to deliver the highest-quality Royal Ballet School programmes in Scotland, including for children trying dance for the first time, dance students who want to train at a recreational or pre-vocational level and those who wish to teach dance in various settings. These programmes will all take place within Dance Base’s award-winning studios in central Edinburgh.

Scottish Ballet

Scotland’s national dance company, Scottish Ballet aims to encourage Scottish dance and to make dance accessible nationwide. 

They are our partners on the National Dance for Parkinson’s Scotland project (2016- 2022).

Theiya Arts

An Edinburgh-based South Asian dance charity, who promote creativity and wellbeing through the practices of South Asian art forms. 

They are collaborating with us on a Dance for Parkinson’s project. 

UK Dance Network

UKDN is a space for collaboration between organisations from across the UK that have remit for developing the dance sector and offer artist support and development opportunities. UKDN provides the representatives of its member organisations with a platform for peer learning and support, a place to exchange ideas, and a conduit for information and opportunities.

Disability Confident Employer

The Disability Confident Campaign works with employers to remove barriers, increase understanding and ensure that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential.
