2024’s almost all wrapped up, and we’re taking a moment to look back before leaping into 2025.

So what did we get up to? Well basically a lot of dancing. But if you want to get a little more specific…

In 2024 Dance Base:

Delivered specialised classes to 566 people with neurological and mental health conditions, and people who are often excluded from participation in the arts;
Supported 1,500 professional dance artists;
Brought public classes to 4,600 people;
Showcased 170+ live dance performances to 6,500+ audience members;
Hosted 29 dance shows during Edinburgh’s Festival Fringe, including 5 we funded and produced;
Developed Lifelines, our mental wellbeing dance and social group for local people who need it most;
Brought new dancers through the doors with our new Move into Dance (Vintage) and Move into Street Dance classes;
Welcomed our new CEO, Jeanie Scott;
And hosted four sell-out performances of Snowbizness, our Christmas showcase of public classes.

Now time to rest those dancing feet – and make some moves in the new year!
