After 20 years, it felt like time for a change. We’ve loved working with Touch over the past few months to create a refreshed identity and website for Dance Base, celebrating the people, place, energy and experience that define Scotland’s National Centre for Dance.
Together we were keen to show our amazing building as a social hub and create an environment that is warm, welcoming, safe and stimulating. We want our online presence to reflect that too. We’re using inviting and accessible imagery and video to demonstrate our space is for everyone, not just experienced dancers, while encouraging all new and existing audiences to ‘get dancing’.
At the heart of this new direction is the reimagined visual identity. Capturing the inherent energy and positive spirit of dance, this bold, uplifting concept is inspired by the notion of group movement. The contemporary ‘moving D’ acts as an iconic symbol for Dance Base — while a much more energetic visual expression helps us speak to a wider audience.
We’ll also be making some changes to our building over the next few weeks so look out for updates!
