New Work
Roberta Jean | mysteryskin

Roberta is developing new work for both digital and live performance spaces. Across these contexts, she’s looking at both similarities and differences between the experience of the performer and the audience.

She says,

‘In my choreographic practice, I’m trying to explore and sculpt somatic experience and the poetic body whilst also trying to be conscious of how work is received.

I would like to further explore the inner process of the dancer, sensations, biomechanics, emotion, as well as the audience’s perspective, how work translates, dramaturgy, the reading/engagement experience of the audience. Overall, I’d like to be more empathetic towards both performers and audiences and look at how this understanding affects my choreographic practice.’
