Rebecca studied at the Performing Art Studio Scotland to gain a BA (Hons) Dance, has a diploma in Acting from the Ward Studio in New York City specialising in Meisner technqiue and is now completing a MSc in Dance Science and Education at Edinburgh University to continue her professional development.
She performed as a dancer internationally in theatre and television for over 12 years and still choreographs and performs for corporate events and theatre productions across the UK and, when scheduling allows, further afield.
Returning to her hometown of Edinburgh in 2012, Rebecca turned her focus to dance education hoping to inspire and equip the next generation of performers. Currently she teaches ballet, tap, jazz and audition technique at local further education colleges and guest lectures across Scotland. She also teaches in schools in Edinburgh and Fife for a variety of ages and abilities.
During her initial professional dance training Rebecca had the opportunity to work with the Scottish inclusive dance development company Indepen-dance. This gave her the skills and confidence to teach creative movement and dance classes to those with diverse abilities and their carers, family members and volunteers. Believing that everybody can enjoy and benefit from participating in dance, Rebecca hopes her Ceilidh class at Dance Base can bring fast paced friendship and fun to all those attending.
