Lucie Francis has practised Pilates for over 20 years. She trained and qualified with Michael King in 2013 and has continued to develop her own creative method; drawing on her experience and interest in both Feldenkrais and Pilates. She works with the mind/body connection and encourages and guides her clients to explore the process of movement for themselves. Lucie’s approach is about making movement as easy and flowing as possible alongside working with the breath.
Her classes will leave you feeling stretched, stronger, revitalised and relaxed. She enjoys adding variety to her classes; using equipment such as the mini ball and roller as ways of exploring and encouraging core stability, whilst drawing awareness to imbalances in the body.
She has always held a keen interest in movement as a form of therapy and has a background in psychotherapy and bodywork alongside complementary therapies. She loves working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and draws both on her experience as a community worker and holistic therapist.
She has taught the beginners and improvers classes at Dance Base, as well as running her own private classes and one to ones for four years. She also works with people with mental health and chronic health issues as well as teaching at the Roslin Institute, Nuffield Health and Edinburgh Leisure.
