Julie Mitchell
Julie trained full time at the Royal Academy of Dance in London and, after graduation, taught and danced professionally in Portugal for eight years.
She subsequently took the position of Vice Principal in one of Hong Kong’s leading dance schools prior to accepting an invitation to become an RAD examiner.
Julie returned to her native Edinburgh and created the Edinburgh Dance Academy which has been acclaimed as the Best Dance School in Edinburgh. EDA also has its own performing “Edinburgh Dance Company”
Julie guests as a teacher for internationally recognised dance companies and travels the world examining teachers and students in the art of ballet.
Julie has been teaching professional ballet at Dance Base since 1998.
Lewis Normand
Lewis Normand is a Dancer, Teacher and Choreographer based in Scotland. He graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2014 with a BA in Modern Ballet.
Lewis has danced for companies and artists such as Scottish Opera, David Hughes Dance, Errol White Company, Ashley Page, Diana Loosmore and Steinvor Palsson. He was one of five choreographers selected for this years Scottish Ballet Choreographic Mentoring Program, lead by Kerry Nichols.
Lewis has taught Ballet and Contemporary Dance to a range of students from professionals and pre vocational dancers to Adults and 60+. His teaching has taken him to various dance institutions across Scotland, including PASS, Edinburgh Dance Academy and Scottish Ballet’s Associate Program.
