Emma Park

Teaching at Dance Base since 2010, Emma initially trained in contemporary dance in Edinburgh before completing her studies in Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York.

She has performed in the Edinburgh International Festival and with artists such as Gary Clarke, Alex Rigg, Norman Douglas and Angus Balbernie.
Emma creates work on a project basis with her own company, Cultured Mongrel Dance Theatre; her work Balance was the first dance theatre work programmed as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival.

In 2011 she joined Ready Ready Sauce Crew and commenced training Hip Hop and Funk Styles. Emma is currently one of the only Waacking and Vogue practitioners in Scotland having trained with pioneers such as Archie Burnett, Tyrone Proctor, Kumari Suraj and Benny Ninja. As the founder of Northern City Waackers Emma continues to travel and compete regularly to enhance her skills and knowledge; Notably Emma won the first ever Punking Dramatics category at Waackfest 2013, in Los Angeles.
