What’s up?
Eleftheria Socratous

The research of Eleftheria Socratous is about the news reports and their influence on the society. The process of her project began in March 2019 in Cyprus in the frame of the artistic research program "Moving the New" which is offered every year for selected artists by Dance House Lemesos. During this residency in Edinburg she wishes to share her up to that date process but also develop it through the opportunity of working intensively in a new artistic environment with all the inspiration it offers. Some of the guiding questions of her research are the following: How did the news reports get established throughout the years? What is the content of the information, that is it selected into today's neoliberalist- capitalistic society and what is the use and the impact that it has on people’s lives? Through various dance experiments she will try to figure out the ways that these questions can be embodied.
