Sense of Centre

Jack Webb

Sense of Centre is a new solo that explores the idea of the longing for home. Through the use of choreography, objects, film and projection, Sense of Centre will imagine the body is a home. It will explore the role of the body as the most constant and tangible element of our existence in a world that is rushing by, is fractured and breaking apart. It will attempt to remedy the chaos of our current world, the economic and political challenges we face and our ever increasing fascination with the digital and technological world by drawing the performer and the audience back to the simplicity of the moving and dancing body as a source of comfort, belonging and connection.

Sense of Centre is a moving and powerful return to the simplicity of nature, the importance of belonging and connecting to our world and the body's necessary role as a vehicle for all of these things.
