Malik Nashad Sharpe and Ellen Furey
This residency has been postponed.
SOFTLAMP.autonomies was the first co-creation by Malik Nashad Sharpe (aka marikiscrycrycry) and Ellen Furey where their concurrent solo practices collided, creating new textures and embodiments built on not-yet-here, not-yet-attainable– solidarities and autonomies in between their bodies. Their new work, slated to premiere in Montreal in 2021 is a furthering of this initial research, where they both continue to build upon both the findings of their solo practices, as well as continued enquiry into what choreography can offer the politics of solidarity. They hope to engage both the concepts of the politics of incommensurability, and feminism.
