Melanie Forbes-Broomes – V/DA

Void (Working Title)

Melanie is working with David Bernard (AV designer) and Bex Anson (scenographer). Collaboratively they are going to be creating a combination of video projection to captivate immersive environments using crafted video images that track the choreography using a single high power projector as its light source. They will work with a mixture of high and low tech graphics and reactive systems to frame and augment the dancer's exploration.
Their concept is the based on J. G. Ballard’s Concrete Island. Looking at the surrealism Ballard uses in his book they will be focusing on the skewered visuals perception one has when trying to survive. Melanie will be working at the physicality for Void during her time at Dance Base. For information on Void visit –
