At a time of unquestionable cultural unrest, social reckoning, ecological and economic upheaval, do our voices matter? “aka: #show” is responding to the more than 150 nights of protest in Portland, Oregon following a string of well-documented murders of unarmed BIPOC and LGBTQ+ citizens, the overturning of Row vs Wade, school shootings, and more. How can we respond to feelings of outrage, grief, helplessness and a burning desire to do something? If we speak is anybody listening? If we stand together will we be heard? Can we mourn those who are gone while defiantly asking, how many more?
