Workshops/Guest Surgeries
Our team are able to provide 1-2 Producing Surgeries, but we know we don’t have all the answers. This is where our Workshops and Guest Surgeries come in.
Throughout the year we welcome creative trailblazers and industry leaders to join us to lead online workshops, and guest 1-2 surgery sessions, focusing on a specific topic or challenge that the sector is facing.
The programme of events is built in direct response to the frequently asked questions or areas of concern that come up during our 1-1’s so it will reflect what dance professionals want to know more about.
All events will have live BSL interpretation and after the event a recording with Closed Captions will be made available on our Resources page.
Catalytic Conversations
As the world continues to grapple with ever-increasing precarity, it seems imperative that we intensify our abilities to talk and listen to each other. The UK is undergoing an enormous shift in relations with other nations, bringing about changes to how we continue to work across borders.
To that end, our Catalytic Conversations programme provides a series of events that invite two dance artists to join in conversation to explore their practice, their experience and anything else they would like to discuss together, and opens the doors for us to listen in. Dance Base has a long-standing commitment to embracing international exchange and while one of the two artists will be based in Scotland, the other will be based outside of the UK.
These online conversations last 60 minutes, with plenty of time to take questions from the audience.
The topic of each conversation has been decided by the invited artists and promises to be as varied and wide ranging as the people involved. We look forward to welcoming you along.
