No Way Back Company | Street OG Company | Les Échos de la Rue

2 - 6 March

Les Echos de la Rue is an urban dance show, a profound exploration of contemporary realities through the prism of breakdancing. This project brings together four male dancers and one female dancer, each of whom brings a wealth of diverse experiences and backgrounds. Together, they embody not only the diversity of hip-hop culture, but also the plurality of life trajectories that have shaped them.

In a world often marked by urban violence, protests, and social tensions, “Les Échos de la Rue” aspires to offer an alternative vision. Through dance, we want to highlight the bonds of mutual aid, kindness, listening, and support that can emerge within our communities. Each movement is a response to brutality, an invitation to transcend conflict and create a space of peace and harmony. The goal of this show is to capture the very essence of dance, not only as a form of artistic expression, but also as a means of communicating positive emotions and bringing people together. We want the audience to feel this energy, to witness a transformation that goes beyond a simple performance: a celebration of life, solidarity, and art.

About the Company

Founded in 2009 by Milan Emmanuel, No Way Back Company moves between hip-hop and contemporary dance, creating performances for both streets and theaters. Its work explores movement, urban space, and visual arts, reaching diverse audiences across Belgium and internationally. Productions such as FrontX, Abstrkt, and Wha7ch Morocco have been presented at major venues and festivals, and in 2024 the company develops Winners! in co-production with Charleroi-Danse. Beyond creation, No Way Back actively supports emerging choreographers through the Detours Festival, an urban arts platform it has organized for over twelve years, fostering artistic development and social cohesion.

Street OG is a Brussels-based collective blending breakdance, freestyle football, and acrobatics into high-energy street performances. Rooted in hip-hop culture, the group transforms public spaces—most notably in front of the Brussels stock exchange—into vibrant stages. Representing a new generation of street performers, Street OG is now transitioning toward more structured stage productions.

After presenting a Work in Progress at the Detours Festival and receiving the Detours Festival X Dance Base award, the company will premiere its completed show in 2026 at Detours and at the Dance Base showcase during the Edinburgh Festival.
