Bridie Gane | Dressing Up, Dressing Down

Bridie Gane | Dressing Up, Dressing Down

Monday 5 - Friday 9 May

Through this residency Bridie wants to test out ideas for a new work for young audiences. She will explore the process of “dressing up”, transforming into different characters or personas and “dressing down”, shedding costumes and trying out movement that expresses other identities.

Using dance, music, and costume, she wants to celebrate how we shape, test-out and live-out identity through the bodies we adopt and clothe. Exploring the fluidity of identity and the personal transformation that comes throughout life, the act of changing clothes serves as a physical metaphor for this ongoing evolution, as does the continual re-shaping of how we present ourselves through our bodies.
