This international collaboration project, Ice Age, is a choreographic piece for 4 dancers with and without disabilities. It’s been developing since 2020 online with the visually impaired choreographer Chung-An CHANG, artistic director of RIDT from Taiwan, and emerging French disabled choreographer and dancer Maylis ARRABIT.

Ice Age explores the different ways people support each other in their own cultural environment. Covid-19 has paralyzed the world and has had a different impact on each country. The piece evokes the coexistence between two parallel realities, separated by “space-time” and at the same time, united by it. Then, an action, a gesture and contemplation are very meaningful. We have been supported and guided by Morag Deyes, MBE and artistic director of Dance Base, for the past two years. We presented a “work in progress” at the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts-Weiwuying, Taiwan National Theatre, in November 2020. Since then, we’ve continued to get to know and understand each other, to seek and develop the language and narrative of the piece. To finalize our creation, we will reunite for 3 weeks of residency in July 2022 at Dance Base, followed by the worldwide premiere of Ice Age (for 15 performances) at Dance Base, Edinburgh Fringe 2022.
