Artist Voice
Monday 24 March – Friday 4 April
Project X’s Artist Voice residency is partnering up with Dance Base and The Work Room to support two early career artists of the African/Caribbean diaspora with developing their first solo performances. The two selected Artist Voice artists for 2025 are patsy and MC Laffitte.
During her residency (Monday 24 – Friday 28 February), patsy will develop an extract of her new work ANNA: Between Calm + Chaos that she’ll perform at the Artist Voice choreographic platform in May 2025 during Tramway’s Dance International Festival.
MC Laffitte’s residency (Monday 31 March – Friday 4 April) will give her dedicated studio time at Dance Base and The Work Room, where she will work on developing a performance centered around the theme of infinity.
Sharing
patsy and MC invite you to join them in the studio to share the work they have developed during their residency so far.

About the artists
patsy
patsy is a multidisciplinary artist and creative entrepreneur based in Glasgow, Scotland. Rooted in her Cameroonian and Congolese heritage, she weaves storytelling, culture, and social impact into everything she does. From founding BAMILEK, a concept store connecting the African Diaspora, to capturing moments through photography, film, and dance, patsy is driven by a passion for community and cultural exchange. Her work spans various mediums, but her mission remains constant: to empower, inspire, and celebrate heritage. Whether through teaching, collaborating, or creating, patsy is here to tell stories that resonate and spark meaningful connections.
MC Laffitte
A French-Cameroonian dancer, MC started her dance journey in Scotland eight years ago, immersing herself in the Hip Hop community and performing with PinkAcid, AKO, and THREE60. Under the mentorship of Divine Tasinda, she has expanded her knowledge of Hip-Hop and African diasporic dance styles. For MC, movement is a way to express, connect, and find freedom.
