Dancers Emerging Bursary Scheme | Group Residency

Dancers Emerging Bursary Scheme | Group Residency

Monday 22 - Friday 26 May

Every year, Dance Base offers a group of dancers and physical performers a place on our Dancers Emerging Bursary Scheme. The scheme includes mentoring from experienced dance artists, free professional classes and workshops at Dance Base, free selected community classes, up to two week-long group residencies at Dance Base and free studio space.

This year we have welcomed Melissa Heywood, Aga Mencel and Nikita Devi, to join the programme for 2022/23 and they have spent the last 9 months working with mentor Tony Mills. This marks their second week in the studio together and they will spend the five days developing their own practice, drawing on the creative tools and conversations that they have taken part in together through the programme.

Friday 26 May | 15:00-16:00 | Residency Sharing | Free | BOOK HERE

To mark the end of their second residency week with Dance Base, three of the DEBS members – Aga Mencel, Melissa Heywood & Nikhita Devi – will hold a residency sharing, hosted by DEBS Mentor Tony Mills.

Join us as they each share their individual work with a live audience, and reflect on their practice and their experience of the DEBS programme.
