Curated by Dance Base Associate Artist, Claricia Parinussa, “…on being still but moving at the same time (though not small dances)” is an evening of live performance, video, installation and poetry bringing together:

Raman Mundair | Emma Ready Hamilton | Libby Odai | Alex Hetherington | Helena Salgueiro | Courtney Stoddart | Shelltoe Mel & Becci Wallace

On voices. On many voices. On being still but moving at the same time.

On screen, (of) being seen; on physical, on digital; on teaching the machine. On breaking, on unlearning. On rising. On disappearing.

On as many voices as possible doing the calling out.

On glocal. On nonplace. On micro, on macro. On migration; integration. On subtlety and the murk and gray. On naming, On acting. On choice.

On the frog in boiling water.

Each of these seven artists offer(ed) (me) a new way to think about choreography as or in action; the choreography of a moment we consider still or purely functional; the knowledge we hold in our bodies; disseminated through poetry, image, movement, sound, thought.
