We are excited to announce that this year Dance Base will be partnering with Frantic Assembly on their free, flagship, talent development programme - IGNITION. Dance Base will be hosting free workshops for young people aged 16-24.

Led by Frantic Assembly’s experienced artists, the taster workshop lasts 1.5 hours and is an opportunity to explore Frantic Assembly’s unique high-energy physical theatre language and approach in a safe and open environment. It’s open to anyone interested in finding out more about Frantic Assembly’s IGNITION project, and no prior experience is required.

Returning one week later, Frantic Assembly’s experienced artists, will also offer trial workshops. They last 2 hours and are a further opportunity to explore Frantic Assembly’s unique high-energy physical theatre language and approach in a safe and open environment. It’s open to anyone interested in taking part in the IGNITION intensive week in October 2022; we recommend you take part in the taster workshop the week before to find out if the project is the right fit for you.

WHAT IS IGNITION?


Ignition is Frantic Assembly’s free, nationwide talent development programme, seeking out underrepresented talent in unexpected places. And for the first time ever is now open to ALL young people aged 16-24.


HOW DOES IT WORK?


This Autumn, Frantic Assembly will be travelling across the UK to deliver FREE taster and trial workshops in association with their 11 regional partners. Frantic Ignition high energy taster and trial workshops are facilitated for young people who face barriers to accessing the arts; visiting both theatre and non-theatre spaces to let young people that the arts can be for them. They will then select 24 young people to join them in London during the last week of October to devise and perform TWO original productions at Brixton House Theatre.

IGNITION INTENSIVE WEEK


The 24 young people will join Frantic Ignition in London for an intensive week of devising through the Frantic Method to create two public original productions at Brixton House.
All expense aspects of the intensive week are paid for by Frantic Assembly. Ignition also includes a year-round access programme which continues to train, mentor and signpost training and career opportunities with Frantic Assembly and their partners throughout the UK.
