Dance Base is Scotland’s National Centre for Dance and each week our studios are bursting with 1,200 people who love to dance, laugh, create and move.
Many people are surprised to learn we are a Scottish registered charity. Still more don’t realise the vast scale of charitable work we carry out every year.
Annually, Dance Base impacts the lives of 4,000 people across Edinburgh. We do this through a range of participation programmes, workshops and activities. They are especially designed to suit the needs of people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access high quality dance activities including young carers, disabled people and individuals living with Parkinson’s.
Our professional programmes include world-class artistic programming, particularly during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It aims to strengthen the dance landscape in Scotland - to make way for upcoming talent to break new ground and create work of artistic excellence for future audiences to enjoy.
