Tramway Artist Opportunities

Tramway has some upcoming opportunities for artists based in Scotland, working within contemporary performance (including dance, live art, performance art or interdisciplinary practices) and would like these call outs to reach as many artists as possible in the sector during this challenging time.

The opportunities are as follows :

TRAMWAY SUPPORTS RESIDENCIES

Tramway are offering six financially supported residency opportunities to Scotland based artists throughout Mid November 2020 – March 2020.  Tramway Supports is a year-round initiative that supports artists at all stages of their practice, working within contemporary performance including dance, live art, performance art or interdisciplinary practice.  The initiative aims to be responsive, tailoring support to the needs of individual projects whilst offering a testing ground for artists to challenge the boundaries of their practice.  

FEE: £1200 per collaboration.
DURATION: One-week residency space in Tramway’s Studio or T4 Theatre.
DEADLINE: 5pm on Wednesday 11th November 2020.

TRAMWAY BEYOND WALLS ARTIST / CREATIVE FACILITATOR

Tramway is looking to work with an Artist/Creative Facilitator with a strong socially engaged practice to aid the creation and delivery of our new artistic programme Tramway Beyond Walls; a digital and outdoor programme involving contemporary performance, visual art and creative participation.  This role will involve collaborating with their Community Architects initiative; a panel of local artists and residents that will work together to co-curate this dynamic season of work that seeks to engage with a diverse local audience outside of the physical limits of the building. 

FEE: £7000 (Approx 40 days across 5 months)

DURATION: This project will run from December 2020 to April 2021, with a focus on public facing delivery across February and March 2021.

PERFORMANCE NOW - TRAMWAY LIVE ART COMMISSION

Tramway is pleased to announce 2 commissioning opportunities for artists based in Scotland working in Live Art or Contemporary Performance. Artists in receipt of each commission will receive:

·  Either one commission of £12k or one commission of £6k

·  Up to 3 Weeks Rehearsal and Development Space in Tramway’s Studio or T4 Theatre.  

·  In-House Technical Support. 

FEE: One commission of £12k or one commission of £6k available.

REMOTE RESIDENCIES

Tramway is pleased to announce our Remote Residencies programme, a call out to Scotland based artists working in the fields of dance, live art or contemporary performance with a desire to collaborate and participate in a virtual/online international exchange. Offering a context for artists to test pilot solutions to developing their work across borders whilst COVID 19 continues to reduce international mobility.

OFFER: Supporting up to 3 Remote Residency applications. Accepting proposals from two artistic collaborators working together remotely between Jan – March 2021.


FEE: £1400 (This will cover 1 week of R+D fee plus shared content creation at £700 x 2 collaborators).
