Summer Term is here – Time to book your favourite courses and workshops

Summer 18

Summer Term dates: Sat 14 Apr – Fri 29 Jun (11 weeks)

Come rain or come shine, Summer is on the horizon, and it's getting high 'Time to Play'. This term, you can choose from a range of exciting courses, drop-ins and workshops. So secure your place on your favourite classes, bring friends and/or family members and get playful.

Bookings are now open.

This term is themed around our family and young dancers classes where guardians and their children can enjoy a carefree, dance-filled time together. Our Ceilidh class is also a great weekly event for families and people of all ages to get spinning, accompanied by live music.

Our ever-popular Ballet Vintage programme is growing once again this term with more ballet classes specifically designed for dancers over 60. We’re introducing two new classes including Ballet Vintage Absolute Beginners (so if you haven’t tried it before, now’s your chance!) and we’re very pleased welcome Lewis Normand and Claricia Kruithof back to teach Ballet Vintage Improvers.
Another teacher to welcome to our Community Programme is Jen Cunningham who will be teaching Morning Pilates. Jen has worked with Dance Base in many different capacities, from leading our Dance with Parkinson’s project classes to performing in Sea Hames as part of our 2017 Fringe Programme. You’re also likely to see Jen smiling behind the front desk as part of our Front of House Team. We’re delighted to have her on board!
We can’t wait to try out a new super slick style this Summer with an exciting Dancehall workshop taught by Ioana Bacrau – come and give it a go! Or maybe you’d rather strut your stuff in the musical theatre world, come and Tap Your Way onto 42nd Street with Derek Roland’s Broadway Tap workshops for Beginners and Advanced levels.

All of our holiday schools and the Edinburgh Summer Sessions, back by popular demand, are listed here and you can find some exciting workshops here. Of course, there are many more classes to choose from!

If you are unsure which dance style and level is right for you, why not Try Before You Buy? During the first two weeks of term, you can go to any dance class, have a nosey and decide which class to continue with, once you've had a try. (This is subject to availability and you need to arrive at reception half an hour before the trial class begins.)

Be rewarded every time you dance! Sign up for a Dance Card and start earning points straight away. Earn 1 dance point for each £1 spent on courses, drop-in classes and worskhops. Redeem points at the equivalent of 10p per point.

For a chance to win a FREE place on a course of your choice and to support Dance Base outreach activities, you can buy a Lucky Ticket to enter our prize draw. Lucky tickets are £1 each and you can buy as many as you like per booking, as long as you are over 16. Prize draw donations flow directly into our diverse range of participation programmes.
