Screendance in the Landscape Workshop with Katrina McPherson

Katrina McPherson 28 OCTOBER – 1 NOVEMBER & 2 – 6 DECEMBER

Screendance in the Landscape Workshop with Katrina McPherson

Easdale Island, Scotland.

7-13 June, 2020.

After the success of the workshops in 2018 & 2019, I am delighted to announce that I will be teaching another Screendance in the Landscape workshops on Easdale Island in June 2020. This 6-day residential workshops provides a rare opportunity to spend an immersive and concentrated time engaging with the creative, aesthetic and practical possibilities of making dance for the screen, amidst the beautiful, inspiring natural environment of Scotland’s West Coast. This year, I will once again be joined by my brother photographer Colin McPherson, who will share his 25-years of landscape and people-based image making to support and enhance the experience for participants on the course.

The ultimate aim of the week is to give you a break from daily activities and to allow you to benefit from the physical and mental space to focus on developing skills and making new work, under the guidance of two highly experienced mentors in Katrina and Colin, whilst forging new friendships, connections and collaborations and living in comfort in the most beautiful of landscapes. Two professional dancers are employed as on-screen performers to work with the participants on their projects. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras as we like to support people to get the most out of their own cameras, however equipment in the form of DSLR cameras, extensive lenses and a gimble can be provided.  Accommodation and specially prepared home-cooked food are included in the price of the workshop. Accommodation is on Easdale Island, in comfortable and modern traditional-style cottages that look out over some of the most stunning Scottish coastal landscape.

Places on the workshop are limited to 6 participants. We were over subscribed last year, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Course cost:  £1500 all inclusive.
