Dance Developers Network

The National Dance Officer Network was established in 2002, managed by Scottish Arts Council/Creative Scotland. From 2014 the management of this network was the responsibility of Dance Base. For anyone unfamiliar with the Network, it comprises of people from all over Scotland who have a remit for participatory dance practice.

There are Dance Development Officers, Dance Artists in Residence, Arts Officers, and Dance Educators. The Network meet up to four times a year to update each other on projects, share best practice and link into national/international opportunities.

The Network also supports, advocates and contributes to the development of the dance infrastructure in Scotland and provides signposting to training and learning opportunities in order to increase the scope, effectiveness and impact of dance nationally. The group have confirmed a change in the name of this network from ‘National Dance Officers Network’ to ‘Dancing Scotland’.
