This November, Dance Base and the Traverse Theatre presented a weekend of dance with a two-day event from 3 – 4 November.
Featuring contemporary, hip hop and dance theatre, the showcased welcomed Room 2 Manoeuvre on Fri 3 Nov with Without a Hitch and a Youth Showcase called Starting Now on Sat 4 Nov.
Performers from countries such as Finland and Sweden joined Scottish-based companies in a programme that celebrated dance in all its forms and expressions, and promoted the variety of dance styles taking centre-stage at the moment.
Exploring themes such as ambition and age, the programme opened at the Traverse Theatre, building on Dance Base's continued relationship with the organisation.
Talking about the programme, Artistic Director, Morag Deyes, MBE, said:
Dance Base brought young dancers to the Traverse Theatre, which was a great adventure for the dancers and a new energy for one of our favourite venues. We kept the fun for all the family going with R2Ms excellent, clever and funny hip hop show, Without a Hitch, produced with our Finnish friends as part of the Dance Base NordDance project.
