Callout for applications : Danse Élargie

Christina Liddell | Glimpsing Air Pockets

Do you think that the doorways to theatres are too narrow ? That new, wider ones should be invented ? You think ten minutes to present something on stage is neither more nor less absurd than absolutely having to fill a whole hour? You know that le prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune is only nine minutes long ? And that there would still be a minute left to add a few more gestures ? That under the pretext of organising a competition, it is possible to create a truly big and free happening? A chance – an open window of stage time – to change what is usually allowed? Danse élargie: yes ? No ? That it can even be fun ?

DANSE ÉLARGIE is a project devised by Boris Charmatz and Emmanuel Demarcy-Mota, in continued partnership with the Fondation d'Entreprise Hermès. An international competition open to artistes from all disciplines (Dance, Theatre, Visual arts, music, philosophy, poetry...)

DANSE ÉLARGIE will take place on June 13 & 14 2020
