Our class is a great way to improve your balance and coordination while learning rhythm and musicality to a great soundtrack of swing, jazz, funk and soul.
Aimed at anyone over 60 who is keen to learn the basics of Tap technique. Please note: this drop-in is not suitable for absolute beginners who have never tapped before.

This class will be participating in the Dance Base Christmas Shows on the evening of either Monday 11th or Tuesday 12th December, and will be working on a routine for this performance throughout the Autumn term. Participating in the show is optional – you do not need to perform to come and enjoy the class.
She has been working as a dancer, choreographer and teacher in Finland as well as in Scotland, in places like Surraa Productions, Oulu Dance Academy, Dance Base, Neu Reekie, Edinburgh International Festival and Neo Productions.
Pirita has also been a visiting teacher for National School of Arts, Moving into Dance, Mophatong and Jozi Youth Dance Academy in South Africa. The last project she worked on as a dance artist was in Hong Kong.
As a versatile artist, she has over a decade of experience working in different fields in dance, her passion is to create work that will engage with audiences, emerge with different art forms, and bring alive topics from daily life.
Her main dance practise in in Contemporary dance, but she has trained in many other styles as well from Street styles to Latin styles.
She mostly now teaches Contemporary dance, Reggaeton, Latin styles and Fusion classes. From her classes she hoped to get people inspired, sweaty and full of positive energy!
