Meet the Teachers

Julie Cowan

Julie graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2007. Since then, her career has led her in many directions, teaching and performing. Edinburgh based since 2009, Julie has focused on different forms of movement/body practice, namely Laban Movement Studies, Body-Mind Centering, improvisation and Dance Movement Psychotherapy.

Julie has a strong interest in Laban Movement Studies and Bartenieff Fundamentals and this study of movement continues to evolve and inform her teaching style and movement practice in extraordinary ways. She worked with Moving Forth (Edinburgh) to start the first UK-based LIMS (R) accredited Certification Programme in Laban Movement Studies in Edinburgh, 2012.
