Blending African and Caribbean dance styles with Hip Hop and Dancehall influences—AfroBeats takes its cues from the music style of the same name, full of rhythm and energetic beats.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced groover, this All Levels class will leave you feeling relaxed and energised.

Please wear comfortable clothing and trainers. Don’t forget to bring your bottle of water!

Meet the Teachers

Emanuel Carlos

Emanuel Carlos is a dancer, choreographer and cultural leader originally from Angola, based in Scotland since 2018. His style is rooted in Afro House, Kuduro, and other diasporic forms, blending Angolan and Portuguese influences with global street and contemporary dance. Over the years, he has collaborated with organisations such as Dance Base, Edinburgh Festival Carnival, Project X, and Afro Dance Academy, using dance as a tool for community building, identity, and joy. Emanuel is also the co-founder of the Jipangue association in Lisbon, working with youth and arts for social change.
