In-Studio Classes: COVID-19 Safety Measures

  • All in-person classes take place with limited capacity, social distancing and strict cleaning and hygiene processes in place
  • Please arrive at Dance Base 20 minutes before the beginning of the class to allow plenty of time to sign in and get into the studio. To prevent gathering in the entrance areas, please do not arrive earlier than this.
  • Our changing facilities and lockers are currently out of use, so please arrive dressed for the class. There will be space in the studio to store your belongings and change your shoes.
  • Please adhere to Scottish Government physical distancing guidelines at all times when in the building. Further information on physical distancing guidance is available at Staying Safe and Protecting Others
  • All participants must wear a face covering before and after activity, and when in any non-practice areas of the building. We would also encourage you to keep your mask on during class, but this is down to your own preference.
  • People who are symptomatic should self-isolate for 10 days, and household members for 14 days as per NHS guidelines. No-one who is self-isolating should attend class.
  •  Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before leaving home to come to Dance Base (or use an alcohol gel if washing hands is not possible.) Hand sanitising stations are available in the building and should be used regularly. Information on hand hygiene is available at Health Protection Scotland: Hand hygiene techniques.
  • Test and Protect is Scotland’s way of putting into practice NHS Scotland’s test, trace, isolate and support strategy. By signing up to our courses, you consent to your contact details being used to assist the Test and Protect service to identify any clusters of cases, contact those who may have been exposed to the virus, and request people to take appropriate steps to prevent onward spread. All information is gathered and stored securely. We recommend downloading the Protect Scotland smartphone app if you have not done so already.
  • Please bring your own water to class – we are unable to sell bottles of water or provide a drinking fountain at this time.
  • All participants will have their own clearly marked dance space within the studio. Please follow the direction of Dance Base members of staff as to which space you will be using for the class and remain in your allocated space throughout your time in the studio.
  • Further information will be emailed to all participants prior to the first class in the studios – please keep an eye on your inbox and make sure to read this email carefully.
  • Please email if you have any access requirements for your visit to Dance Base, including arranging use of the lift.
  • In the event of any further lockdown or Government restrictions resulting in us cancelling any remaining classes in the course block, we will inform you by email with as much advanced warning as possible – please ensure you check your inbox before travelling to attend class.  Should this occur we will contact you to offer a spot on an online class of your choosing (subject to availability and suitability) for the remaining duration of the course, or credit for the missed classes.
