Dance Base is putting several protocols and measures in place to ensure the health and safety of our staff, teachers and participants as we return to in-studio classes.
The Scottish Government highly recommends conducting regular at-home Lateral Flow testing to help prevent the spread of coronavirus, and we would encourage all of our participants to take a test before coming to Dance Base. These are available to order online or to collect from pharmacies for free.
Please see How to Book webpage for information on booking processes. Please note, you will be required to provide contact details (phone and email) at the time of booking. This is for contact tracing. This information is stored securely on our MINDBODY booking system and is only accessible by relevant staff.
As with most organisations implementing COVID19 mitigation protocols, we are NOT currently able to offer in-person booking. Thank you for your understanding.
The capacity for each class is limited to allow extra space for each dancer and reduce social contact in our studios to keep all of our participants, teachers and staff safe.
Please ensure you arrive no earlier than 20 minutes before your class is due to begin to minimise the number of people in the building at any one time and to allow everybody plenty of space.
We are operating with a ‘keep left’ system throughout the building – please do your best to use the left-hand side of stairs and corridors when walking through the building to allow people to pass safely.
You must wear a face covering in all shared spaces in the building, including entering and exiting the building. You do not need to wear a face covering during your class.
Please arrive as prepared for class as possible to minimise the use of the changing rooms.
Please bring your own water bottle to class – we are unable to sell bottled water at this time, and our drinking fountain can only be used to refill a bottle.
If you are attending a Pilates, Yoga, Strech or Flow class please bring your own mat and props where possible. There will be a limited number of mats and props to borrow in the studio, and we ask than you clean them well with the materials provided at the end of class.
Our timetable has been created to allow cleaning and ventilation time in studios between each class. Dance Base staff will also clean frequently used touch points such as door handles and banisters throughout the day.
Cleaning materials will be provided in each space for you to use. We are asking teachers to clean surfaces and equipment regularly, and before leaving the studio.
Hand sanitising points are available throughout the building.
We are required to ensure adequate ventilation in all of our studio spaces. As such, our studio temperatures can vary depending on the outside weather. Please bring additional layers with you to keep warm and make sure you warm up fully to reduce the risk of injury.
This guidance is as of 16 August 2021 and will remain in place until further updates from the government are issued, which will then supersede this guidance. All users of Dance Base studios will be expected to adhere to current guidance and protocols when in the building. For the most up-to-date Covid information, including guidance on general safety measures, please see the Scottish Government Covid website.
