4 - 8 October
In this new interdisciplinary collaboration between dance artist Olga Kay and composer/cellist Atzi Muramatsu, the artists will embody the binary realities posed in our current socio-political and environmental climate.
How do we make sense of coexisting negative and positive narratives of the present and future?
How do we cope when exposed to constant anxiety and growing fear?
Through innocent ‘play’, the artists will seek some answers. Nurturing a fiery and challenging performance, the artists will explore an interplay of emotions through mimicry, affection and expressing inner turmoil. By acknowledging their differences and individuality, they hope to embrace honesty, understanding and inclusivity.
Their cross-disciplinary backgrounds will allow the artists to push their artistic boundaries. Both artists will move, act, sing and play, to fully embody the juxtaposed realities and immerse in all aspects of the performance.
There will be a sharing of work-in-progress on the Friday 8th October from 16:00 - 17:00, followed by a Q and A.
Atzi and Olga will also teach a free professional class on Friday 8th October from 11:00 - 12:30.
