Front of House Coordinator (Fringe - Fixed Term)

Dance Base has always been the home of dance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and this 
year we have our most ambitious programme of events yet! 
Working as part of our Bookings and Front of House team, the Front of House Coordinator is 
responsible for presenting the public face of Dance Base during the Fringe and for ensuring 
that all users of the building receive welcoming, friendly and efficient service, in line with 
Dance Base’s Customer Commitment and Front of House policies and procedures.
We are looking for two passionate and organised Front of House Coordinators to take on 
the role of overseeing the smooth running of all our shows and to make sure our audiences, 
guests and visiting artists have a positive experience.

Salary: £11.45 per hour
Contract: Fixed term contract – 25th July 2022 - 28th August 2022. 
Working hours: Pre-festival (25th July – 4
th August) – Shifts for training, set-up and 
preparation, as well as attending performance dress rehearsals.
During the festival – 6 days per week, approximately 6 hour shifts per day with 30 minutes 
unpaid break, but this will vary depending on activity and availability. Hours worked on a 
rota basis mainly between 11:30am and 11.00pm Tuesday to Sunday, with the potential for 
more hours outside of these times to support private events. 
Holidays: You will receive holiday pay at the rate of one twelfth of your hourly rate for each 
hour worked. This amount shall be accumulated on a weekly basis according to the hours 
worked and paid at the end of your contract.

Place of work: Dance Base, 14-16 Grassmarket, Edinburgh. Also, infrequently at other 
locations in Edinburgh, as agreed with the Bookings and Front of House Manager if required.
