Dance Base Access Statement
Dance Base is Scotland’s National Centre for Dance, based in Edinburgh’s Grassmarket. Access and inclusion is incredibly important to us, and we are committed to making our venue and the activities that take place in it accessible to as many people as possible. In recent years, our venue has been awarded the Euan’s Guide venue access award and Fringe Access Awards levels 1, 2, and 3.

Dance Base is situated in the centre of Edinburgh’s Old Town on Grassmarket, a 15-minute walk from Waverley Station.
The entrance is located between The Black Bull and Sofi’s.
The number 2 Lothian bus stops on Grassmarket 150m away.
The number 35 Lothian bus stops on Lauriston Place 350m away with 75 steps broken into about 15 flights, and also on Forrest Road 500m away for step-free access.

Waverley Station is a 10-15 minute walk from Dance Base and Haymarket Station is a 15-20 minute walk away. Visit ScotRail for train times.
There are public bike stands available on The Grassmarket.
Free parking is available after 18:30 in Grassmarket. There is also Blue Badge parking on the corner of Grassmarket and King’s Stables Road.
The closest parking lots are located on Castle Terrace and Grindlay Street Court.
