Veronica Jackson

Veronica started dancing at the age of 5 years not knowing that she will continue to have a successful career in dance. She is a qualified UKA Highland Dance teacher and a former world champion and teaches Highland Dance in primary schools in the Edinburgh district in addition to her classes at Dance Base. Veronica is also qualified in Classical Ballet (ARAD). She has had a very successful career as a dancer, performing in all the major theatres in Scotland working with Bruce McClure for many years.

Here's what she had to say about her classes ...

What can dancers expect from your classes?
The highland dance classes I teach at Dance Base for adults are up beat, a good work out, challenging and most importantly - great fun.

What do you love about teaching Highland dance?
I get a lot of pleasure from teaching, especially when a lot of the people coming to class that have never danced before become lovely dancers and enjoy it!

What sort of music do you use in class?
I use not only pipe music, but vary the playlist, from Celtic to modern music.
