North Edinburgh Arts (NEA) and Imaginate are working in partnership with Dance Base to support a Dance Artist in Residence to work with the North Edinburgh community. We are delighted to now invite applications.

With this post, funded through Creative Scotland’s pARTners fund, NEA and Imaginate are seeking to provide opportunities for young people in North Edinburgh to engage in dance activities and in so doing improve their health, wellbeing and creativity. The artist will be given time, space, support and resources to develop his/her own work and achieve their artistic ambitions. The successful applicant will also have opportunities to build relationships with and benefit from the support of Dance Base.

Accountable to: North Edinburgh Arts Director

Terms: The terms of the contract will vary depending on the artist. Start date ideally will be May 2011 running full time for 18 months.

Location: North Edinburgh Arts, 15a Pennywell Court , Edinburgh and Imaginate, 45a George Street, Edinburgh

Fee: £30,000 for 18 month contract The artist will be contracted on a freelance basis and will be responsible for paying their own tax and national insurance.
