Scottish Highland dancing with James MacDonald Reid | 12.30 – 14.30
Artistic Director of the Drumalban Folk Ensemble, James MacDonald Reid and colleagues will be demonstrating and teaching the older male form of Scottish Highland dancing for all to try.

Norwegian Halling Dance with Anders Aasberg | 14.30 – 16.30
Anders is part of FRIKAR dance company, winners of the Eurovision 2009 Song and Choreography prizes. FRIKAR perform with breakdancers, capoeira and contemporary dancers in their crew. Anders will offer a taste of the original

Danish Folk Dance with men from The Dancing Danes | 16.30 – 18.30

This group of young people dance 18th and 19th century Danish dances but with a modern composition and choreography. The Dancing Danes were created by the Danish Folk Council to performat the C.I.O.F.F.World Folkloriada 2000 in Japan

Swedish Pipe Tune Workshop with Svanevit | 13.00 – 17.00

Erik Ask-Upmark, from folk group Svanevit, plays the Swedish and medieval bagpipes. This is an opportunity to try Swedish tunes that may be suitable for small pipes. The extended workshop will allow plenty of time to try tunes out to see which ones work the best and maybe even explore harmonies. Stay on for the Concert Ceilidh in the evening and there may be a chance to perform some of the tunes too!

Concert Ceilidh | 19.30 - 22.30

Round off your Hoots Man Alive! experience with a wee bit of dancing, music, song, story and seeing what has been taking place over the weekend. Featuring Norwegian Halling dance with Anders Aasberg (as seen in the 2009 winning Eurovision Norwegian entry); the older male form of Scottish Highland dancing with James MacDonald Reid; and Danish male dances from the Dancing Danes. Both males and females are welcome to bring your dancing shoes to enjoy the fun with ceilidh dances in between!
