The age range of the particpants varies from teenagers to students to older. The class is mixed, but may tend to have more males. Last term the class
developed in the latter stages of the term to a core of around 8 males and 3 females. Some had done the course before (or other dancebase courses) and
I'm sure most will be doing it again. For me it was my first course.rnrnFor anyone with sensitive knees or elbows would recommend wearing neoprene
pads which are not too thick and are flexible. The action takes place on a wooden floor so it may negate a few bruises in these areas while the
technique is mastered.rnrnThe course starts off with some drills to warm up and get the muscles and limbs used to how they will be used. The main
teacher is Bilal of Random Aspekts, but other teachers may take the class such as Allan Irvine, Nico Major or Matt)and this will give a different
perspective and they may focus on different aspects of the style.rnrnTop rocks, freezes, power moves, etc are covered and also the philosophy and
style behind the dance. You may find you are better at some things than others, but dont worry as everyone is in the same boat. No one masters moves
first time it takes practice and patience. rnrnAs the course progresses you are encouraged to be creative. Little sequences of moves are then taught,
something I found quite hard as im as co-ordinated as a rabbit in headlights, but became much more used to by the end of the course. rnrnEven if you
feel you are not a good dancer or do not intend to become a b-boy, its still very good for fitness, having fun and learning a few moves along the way.
Bilal always brings something fresh to each class so you will always be kept on your toes.rnrn
