Barney Strachan

Barney is a musician who has been signed, recorded albums, made music videos and played and toured in America, Holland and the U.K.. In one band he won the MTV ‘In The City’ Unsigned Band of the Year Award (Idlewild came second), signed a two single deal with Boy George’s Indie label then secured a large album deal with a New York label that was released in the US, Australia and Japan. He worked part-time at the Jazz Café in London for 4 years and by 2005 he had gained a BA in Sonic Arts at Middlesex University before coming back to his native Edinburgh where he now gives sound workshops and projects, plays guitar with jazz singer Niki King and works part-time as part of the venue team at Dance Base.
