New Raw Soul Dance Theatre

Rainbow on the Horizon
NRS Dance Theatre is looking to further develop Rainbow on the Horizon, work first premiered by the company as part of the Dance Base Heads Up programme in August 2009. This residency seeks to analyse the work and the characters which first appeared in an effort to seek and explore their journey and intent within the original piece. This creative lab will also allow NRS the time to investigate a more profound and concentrated choreographic vocabulary. The original choreographic exploration was first inspired by the film Unleashed (also known as Danny the Dog) and tells the story of one man and his immense journey and fight to break free of his restricted, dehumanising and dormant life. Music for the work includes a combination of the film’s soundtrack and a collection of emotive piano works.
Free Company Class: Thursday 6 May, 10.00 – 11.30
Company class will be based on enhancing a strong contemporary technique, focus, spatial awareness & increased physical performance.
